Charity Water Sponsorship
Anna first met Scott Harrison, founder of Charity Water, in 2006. Scott shared some film footage with Anna, showing children in Ethiopia walking up to 8 hours a day to collect water supplies from the nearest source – which itself was not clean. This deeply affected Anna who vowed to do something about it, so Anna became an important sponsor of Charity Water and provided money to fund a clean water well in the village of Tashmane, Ethiopia. This was built in 2010 and is still used by the village today.
Anna continues to sponsor Charity Water and has now funded a second well in Chekata, Ethiopia, a community of 650 people who will now benefit from a clean water supply. One of the ways Anna raised money was to run the New York Marathon, with her sponsor money being used to the support the charity. Anna raised over £9000 and says the memories of running the Marathon will stay with her forever.

Bertie continues to actively support Charity Water. Bertie had the pleasure of meeting Scott Harrison founder of Charity Water in 2010 who showed her some film footage of the reasons why they support the provision of clean water in African communities all over the world. Being a Travel agent, Bertie couldn’t just sit back and watch this happen, so she decided to help and sponsor a well in Tashmane, Ethiopia. The rest is history.
